OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma State Department of Health has received an award for an internal, digital program designed to help employees map their goals and measure their success.
The Center for Digital Government honored OSDH with the 2010 Digital Government Achievement Award for its Step UP Performance Management System.
"The Step UP Performance Management System represents the best in government internal projects," said Cathilea Robinett, executive director of the Center for Digital Government. "Each year, state and local governments continue to make strides towards implementing better access and more efficient Web delivery of public services."
OSDH created the Step UP program through a partnership with OK.gov, Oklahoma's official website. The system allowed employees to set program goals and objectives, promoted thoughtful planning and decision making, and enhanced development of innovative activities and strategies. The system also measured the success of performance goals.
"Indeed, Step UP, through digital technology, has allowed our services, programs and employees to chart their progress toward positive outcomes that ultimately benefit our customers," said Joyce Marshall, director for OSDH's Office of Performance Management.
