OKLAHOMA CITY – Heavy rainfall that began Wednesday morning and has not moved out of the state yet has caused several roads and streets around the state to close due to the high water.

State Highway 71 from Enterprise to the Haskell/Pittsburg County line is closed.

County road Rock Creek Road, about two and a half to three miles west of U.S. 69, is closed because of high water as well. There are several feet of the roadway that has been washed away. The Pittsburg County commissioner is putting up barricades.

In Sequoyah County, State Highway 141 west of Gains is closed due to high water. U.S. 64B north of Muldrow at Mineral Springs and State Highway 101 near Short at Big Lee Creek were closed as well but were back open by noon Thursday.

It is unclear when the roads will be back open. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes while the water is still high.
