OKLAHOMA CITY -- A cold front will move across the state tonight producing an extensive line of thunderstorms including some severe weather.

South and east of Ponca City to Enid and Elk City including the Oklahoma City metro will be affected. The metro will likely see storms between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. tonight.

The storms may bring damaging winds and torrential downpours. Strong north winds will also occur behind the front with wind gusts over 40 mph possible.

The front will make its way through the state by Friday morning, so rain will likely end Thursday night.

Behind the front will be cool north winds with drier air. Friday and Saturday will be gorgeous with sunny skies and highs only topping off in the 80s.
