Midwest City Man Covered in Blood Arrested for Assault and Battery

Midwest City police arrested a man for aggravated assault and battery and public intoxication following a fight that left the victim in critical condition.

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma – Midwest City police arrested a man for aggravated assault and battery and public intoxication following a fight that left the victim in critical condition.

Police found 59-year-old Harvey Weaver and an unidentified woman lying in the front yard of a home on Reed Place. Weaver and the female were transported to a local hospital.

Weaver suffered two broken cheek bones and fractures to his neck and head. He may also have bleeding in his brain and was listed in critical condition. The woman had no injuries.

Police learned the suspect, Kelly Charty, Weaver and the woman had been drinking, and Charty and Weaver were arguing before a fight broke out.

Charty was arrested. The 37-year-old had blood on his hands, feet and shoes when he was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County jail, police said.
