Tom Coburn, Jim Rogers, 2 Independents to Square Off in Race for U.S. Senate Seat

Tom Coburn has won the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat and Jim Rogers won the Democratic primary. The two will square off in the November general election.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Tom Coburn has won the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat and Jim Rogers won the Democratic primary. The two will square off in November in the general election.

Current U.S. Senator Coburn is running for his second term.

Coburn said he is seeking his final term in the U.S. Senate and wants to "continue to uphold and defend the Constitution and work to fight wasteful government spending, hold career politicians and bureaucrats accountable to the American people, and restore the vision of limited government envisioned by our country's founders."

His opponents were Lewis Kelly Springer and Evelyn Rogers. Coburn won with over 90 percent of the vote. Springer received over three percent and Rogers received 6 percent of the vote.

Jim Rogers has won the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate seat. Rogers' opponent was Mark Myles of Lawton.

Rogers won by over 66 percent of the vote.

Coburn and Rogers will also run against Independent candidates Stephen Wallace and Ronald Dwyer on November 2.
