FAIRVIEW, Oklahoma -- Law enforcement agents closed part of US 412 after an accident involving an asphalt spreader containing a chemical known as cesium.

Cesium can be explosive when mixed with water.

Initial reports stated the truck contained uranium and homes were evacuated in the area.

The spill appeared to be relatively small and was cleaned up without incident.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed US 412 at Bouse Junction east to SH 58 at Ringwood for containment purposes. It has since reopened.

No injuries were reported.
