OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two men who wanted to become Oklahoma City police officers were arrested after policemen conducting background checks discovered they faced outstanding warrants.
The men were arrested Friday after being told to report to the recruiting office for a follow-up meeting. One was released afterward when a charge against him was dropped.
Jacob Duane Teehee, who is 21, was in jail Monday in lieu of $2,000 bond. He faced an out-of-state warrant and also three local warrants of driving under the influence, careless driving and unlawful transportation of an open container.
David Lee Shrock, who is 39, was released after Canadian County prosecutors dropped a misdemeanor count against him of obtaining money with a false or bogus check.

"Which is really ironic to think that you could apply for a police department knowing that you have outstanding county warrants," Capt. Stewart said.
