OKLAHOMA CITY -- The state Medical Examiner's office said a man accused of abducting a 7-year-old girl who later was found dead committed suicide by apparently ingesting antifreeze.

The agency released its autopsy findings on 46-year-old Lester Hobbs on Friday. The nine-page report stated Hobbs died of acute ethylene glycol intoxication. Ethylene glycol is a primary ingredient of automobile antifreeze.

The bodies of Aja Johnson and Hobbs, who was her stepfather, were found March 29 in a rural part of Norman, along with a missing car that belonged to the girl's mother, Tonya Hobbs. Tonya Hobbs was found dead Jan. 24.

When authorities searched in and around the car, they found an empty radiator overfill jug which had been removed from the engine.

Aja's official cause of death is still pending, but a preliminary autopsy report indicated she had several cuts on her neck, and that she and Hobbs had been dead for some time before their bodies were discovered.
