Police Investigate Fake Blood Soaked Sidewalk

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police said a man walking downtown Tuesday morning stumbled across what at first appeared to be a crime scene.

Police launched an all-out investigation examining what looked like blood, only to realize the substance probably was not blood. The substance was all over the sidewalk near 2nd Street and Oklahoma Avenue. They said they will have to do lab research to determine exactly what it is.

"We don't have a victim," said Oklahoma Lt. Jay Barnett. "We've checked the area thoroughly, checked local hospitals, gone through everything we can do to determine whether or not there may be a victim involved in this."

The crime scene expert said the substance could be stage blood.
