Pedestrian Killed on I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Interstate 44 Thursday evening.

Police said a man was standing in the middle lane on I-44 near Airport Road at about 6 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by the trailer on a truck.

I-44 southbound was closed while investigators cleaned up the area but was reopened late Thursday evening.

Police are not sure why the man was standing in the middle of I-44.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The victim's name has not been released.
