OKLAHOMA CITY -- Officials said they have detected high nitrate levels in the water of parts of Logan and Kingfisher counties.
Officials said nitrate in drinking water can be dangerous to babies and should not be given to infants under 6-months-old or used to make infant formula. However, the water is safe for adults and children older than 6-months-old to drink.
Officials also said boiling the water will not get rid of the nitrates.
The areas of concern include southwest Logan County and southeast Kingfisher County including the town of Cashion and the Cedar Valley Golf Course.
