Police Identify Man Killed in Cemetery Road Accident

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man is dead in a single vehicle accident police think happened sometime overnight Sunday. The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Bobby Ray Dixon Jr.

Dixon's pickup truck was discovered Sunday morning in a creek about three miles southwest of Mustang at Cemetery Road and SW 119th Street.  Investigators say Dixon was southbound on Cemetery Road where he apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.

Police say they'll have to look at the tire tracks to try to determine how Dixon managed to run his car off the road.

Neighbors who drove by the area at about 8 p.m. Saturday night say the truck was not present at that time. The muffler was cold when the accident was discovered, so police believe it happened sometime overnight.

Police say it's unclear yet if alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident.
