OKLAHOMA CITY -- A homeowner in a southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood caught several thieves on camera, and now neighborhood residents are asking for the public's help to identify the crooks.

Elvis Humphrey and two of his neighbors on Springcreek Circle were targets of thieves Friday morning. They were sleeping when their vehicles were broken into, but thankfully, Humphrey's security cameras were on.

"I installed the cameras on every corner of my home," Humphrey said. "They were put up several years ago, and this is the first time they've been used for something like this."

The surveillance video shows one person going into the back of Humphrey's pick-up truck and taking off with a 24-case of beer.

"They didn't take any of the hunting gear or anything else," Humphrey said. "Just the beer."

Across the street, two other individuals could be seen breaking into Mark Harris' SUV.

"They busted out the window and took off with an iPod," Harris said. "I had a $250 leather jacket in there. They didn't want that, just the iPod."

Next door to Harris, a third vehicle was broken into. The thieves took music CDs and a bottle of perfume, but left behind bank documents and other items of value.

"We think these were teenagers because they took off with small things and petty items," Harris said. "We just want these kids caught before something as simple as this turns into something more serious."

Oklahoma City police told the neighbors there was a rash of similar break-ins across south Oklahoma City Friday morning, but at this time there's no proof they're all connected.

Anyone with information about these crimes should call Oklahoma City CrimeStoppers at 405-235-7300.
