MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- A police officer shot a man in a car parked at a Midwest City apartment as police closed in on the vehicle to make an arrest.
Police Chief Brandon Clabes said 27-year-old Corey Lee Moore was sitting in the passenger seat Thursday when an officer shot him through the car's window. The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for a wound to his right cheek. The wound was not life threatening.
Clabes said the officer reported that Moore appeared to have a weapon but it has not been determined if the man was armed.
Moore was arrested on drug complaints. Clabes said he was a suspect in a nine-month investigation.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was taken off field duty pending an investigation as is standard.
