Plane Makes Rough Landing in Shawnee After Wheel Falls Off

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma - A plane had to make a rough landing Monday morning at the Shawnee Airport.

Officials at Shawnee Regional Airport said the pilot was in the air when he noticed the front wheel on the runway.

The pilot, Eric Gohr landed safely.

"Pretty good pilot," Assistant Manager of the Shawnee Regional Airport, Rex Hennen said. "It could have been a lot worse than it was. Fortunate series of events to get him down safely, I think."

Gohr was not injured. The propeller was bent during the landing when it hit the pavement.

The Federal Aviation Administration were set to inspect the plane.
