OKLAHOMA CITY -- Dale Roulston has been battling cancer since 2001, and the disease is beginning to win the war. Doctors told the 69-year-old he has only a few weeks to a few months to live.

Roulston is undergoing treatments to battle the cancer, including PET treatments, which uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose and treat cancer.

Since Roulston received the news, he's using his last days to raise money for blood cancer research, hoping to become the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's "Man of the Year."

Dale Roulston's wife of 25 years, Estie Roulston supports her husband's courage.

"He's kind of been the man of the last several years around here," Estie Roulston said. "He just keeps swinging, so he's certainly the man of 2009."

His doctors are also impressed by his strength and perseverance.

"He inspires me more than I can inspire myself in the fight against cancer," said Dr George Chaco, medical director of the Oklahoma PET Center. "We are all rooting for him and I hope the Oklahoma public roots for him too."

Roulston is competing against local TV celebrities in his attempt to raise as much money as he can.

You can help Roulston's cause by making a pledge and helping his raise money for blood cancer research.

Dale Roulston continues to have a positive outlook as he raises awareness and money for blood cancer research.
