OKLAHOMA CITY -- A convicted felon attempted to rob a metro Homeland but was stopped after a grocery employee tackled him.

Police said employees saw Walter Tole, 67, enter the store at SW 44th Street and May Avenue and thought he looked suspicious because he was wearing a wig. When Tole tried to rob a Homeland employee at gun point, another employee tackled him from behind, took the gun away from him and duct-taped his hands and feet.

Police arrived at the scene and took Tole into custody.

Tole has multiple felony convictions dating back to the 70s for armed robbery, possession of drugs, DUI, and assault and battery on a peace officer.
