OKLAHOMA CITY -- A group of Oklahoma City homeowners are preparing to take on a Norman developer who wants to build an apartment complex near their homes.

Almost three years ago, Hunter Miller wanted to build a three story apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City. Neighbors fought him, but eventually a compromise was reached and the project is now under construction.

Now, just a mile away the same fight is brewing.

"They're wanting to build a three story apartment complex...with the maximum of 240 units," said Randy Lewis, vice president of the Lexington Neighborhood Association. "We just feel that's too dense of a project."

The area is west of the Lexington Housing addition on NW 164 Street. Miller and his company, Sooner Traditions LLC, is asking the city of Oklahoma City to rezone the property to make way for his apartments. Miller already owns Switzer's Locker Room, which is located across the street.

"We're concerned about the flooding. We're concerned about the traffic. We're concerned about what's that going to do with our schools, our city services like police and fire," Lewis said.

Neighbors also said they're concerned about their property values. They have hired an attorney and plan to fight Miller's plans.
