FAIRVIEW, Oklahoma -- The trial for former Custer County Sheriff Mike Burgess starts Monday morning.
Burgess pleaded not guilty to 36 charges, including rape, oral sodomy, kidnapping and bribery.
Proseuctors allege the victims were inmates in the county's drug court program. Burgess was forced to resign as sheriff after the criminal charges were filed.
If convicted, he could face up to 467 years in prison.
The trial was moved to Fairview in Major County because of publicity surrounding the case.
