OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police are currently investigating why a child was left inside a parked car for two hours Thursday morning.

A valet attendant found the child as he was walking through the parking garage at OU Medical Center. OU police said the child is fine, but they are not releasing many details about the incident.

The child was found in a Dodge Durango bearing dealer's tags. Valet parking employee Jared Calhoun parked the vehicle in the garage Thursday morning. When he went back to the garage around 90 minutes later, something caught his eye.

"I see a head or something moving in there, so I look in and I see a hand. And I was thinking ‘I know I locked it ‘cause it had an automatic key thing.' Of course I locked it, and I went up to look and there's kid in the back seat," Calhoun said.

Police were notified, removed the boy from the car and questioned the driver.

"It's always disturbing when you have a kid left unattended," OU Medical Center police Chief Ed Welch said.

Later a woman came out and drove away in the vehicle, but she wasn't pleased to see police or cameras near her vehicle

"I mean, we're all kind of mad about it, 'cause you don't leave your kid in a car. That's how kids die," Calhoun said.
