OKLAHOMA CITY - A judge who was convicted on indecent exposure charges for using a sex toy during trials was disbarred Tuesday by the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

The court's decision removes former District Judge Donald Thompson's license to practice law in the state. He was accused of using a "penis pump" while presiding over trials and was convicted in June 2006 on four counts of indecent exposure, according to court documents.

Thompson was released in April after serving 20 months of a four-year prison term and has had to register as a sex offender.

"His criminal behavior is not only socially unacceptable, but is an affront to the judicial branch of government and the legal profession," the court opinion read. "Such conduct can do nothing other than to undermine public confidence and trust in the dignity and integrity of the judiciary and the legal profession."

Thompson's disbarment is effective from when he was first suspended by the court in December 2006.
