PADEN, Okla. -- A mysterious disappearance of an Oklahoma woman remains uncertain. The mother of three vanished more than a week ago on her way home from work in Tulsa. Michelle Davis was driving to her home in Paden, but never made it.

A note was found Sunday that may provide enough clues to end this mystery.

"It's had a few twists, and one of the more interesting cases I've worked as far as twists go," Undersheriff Derrall Summers said.

Summers has spent more than a week looking for Davis. Her car was found Aug. 8, about six miles from her home. Davis, a 31-year-old, was nowhere to be found.

"Right now, myself, I think it is one of two things, I can't really say right now," Summers said.

In Paden, people are also staying tight lipped about Davis' disappearance. They are, however, writing about it anonymously on the internet. Some question Davis' timing and blame her for a recent break-in where her husband was shot at.

"They'd both come in from a night out and the subject was in the house when they came in," Summers said.

Then, there's the letter Davis' husband found Sunday.

"The husband found it at his residence, when no one was there," Summers said. "As far as contents go, there's really nothing I can tell you about it right now."

Some speculate Davis simply ran off.

"We've looked here in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, possibly California, we've checked all those leads we can as to where she may be," Summers said.

Yet Davis' mother does not believe all this for one minute; she thinks her daughter is in danger.

"She has a zest for life, she would not leave her children," Davis' mother Barnie Mooneyham said. "If she has a breath in her she will find her way to get back to her children."

Davis' mother is planning a candlelight vigil for her daughter Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Wild Horse Park in Mustang.

If you have any information on Michelle Davis' disappearance, call the Okfuskee County Sheriff at 918-623-1128.
