Free women's health screenings in August

Ten health clinics in the Oklahoma City area are providing free breast and cervical cancer screenings throughout the month of August.

OKLAHOMA CITY-- Ten health clinics in the Oklahoma City area are providing free breast and cervical cancer screenings throughout the month of August.

The clinics are part of the Take Charge program, which is Oklahoma's breast and cervical cancer early detection program.

The mission of Take Charge is to provide women with information and access to screening services in order to reduce morbidity and mortality from breast and cervical cancer.

The clinics do have low-income restrictions, for more information visit the Oklahoma State Department of Health Web page.

To schedule a free screening, call 271-2124.

The screenings will be held at the following locations:

Baptist Community Clinic - Aug. 18
Olivet Baptist Church
1201 NW 10

OU Breast Institute - Aug. 20
OU Physician's Building
825 NE 10, Suite 3500

Latina Ramirez Center - Aug. 21
222 NW 12

Crossings Community Clinic - Aug. 22
