Man arrested in connection to burglaries

An Oklahoma County deputy arrested 38-year-old Raymond Dewayne Smith Monday in connection to several alleged burglaries in OKC.

According to the deputy, he was approached when he was off duty by alleged victims near the 300 block of SW 59 Street. They claimed to know an eyewitness seen in the video that also captured Smith committing the burglaries. The deputy received information from the eyewitness after detaining him at his place of work. The information led to Smith's arrest.

After going to Smith's house and not making contact, a deputy was later contacted by Smith shortly before he was arrested.

Smith has been booked on two complaints of second-degree burglary, according to police.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and more arrests could be made.
