Oklahoma Paranormal Research and Investigations offers Oklahoman's a chance to hunt for ghosts.

Christy Selfridge, Founder and Director of OKPRI, said that her group had so many requests to go out on hunts, the team decided to organize tours.

"What we try to do is set up public tours and public events," Selfridge said. "That way we can not only educate the public and explain to them what it is that we do on different aspects of the paranormal field, but we try to arrange it where we actually give them a ghost hunt."

Ghost tours of the Blue Belle Saloon and the Stone Lion Inn take place on a regular basis.

"We tell them, Bring your flashlights, bring your camera's, bring your recorders," Selfridge said. "We split them up in groups, and we guide them and let them do their own ghost hunt, and they love it. They absolutely love it."

Public tours are not OKPRI's main focus. They exist because people experience things that they can't explain.

"They'll call us; some of them just moved into the home, some of them have been dealing with it for a few years. A lot of them just don't understand what it is that they're seeing or experiencing," Selfridge said. "A lot of them want to know, ‘Am I going crazy, or does this stuff really exist?'"

OKPRI uses various types of recording devices and sensors. One of the easiest tools they have, and use on every expedition, is the group's skeptic Sara.

"I don't believe that all the experiences that we're having are true paranormal experiences," Sara said. "I think there is other explanations out there that aren't spiritual in nature, but maybe something to do with technology that are true paranormal, because it's unexplained, but they don't have a spiritual answer."

Though skeptical, Sara admits to having her own encounter with a ghost. It happened to her while the team was investigating an old theater in Shawnee, Okla.

"I look to my left, and I see a man standing there, facing his body towards the front of the theater, but he was facing me," Sara said. "I can tell you what he was wearing, what he looked like, his hair style. It scared me pretty badly, so I closed my eyes and as soon as I looked back, he was gone."
