Police have exhausted their typical methods of identifying a possible crime victim found barely alive last Saturday in a city street. Investigators have checked missing person reports and fingerprints, and found no leads toward discovering who the unidentified woman is.

The park at the corner of SE Grand and Lindsey provides a safe place to take a stroll, but the area turns into a danger zone at night.

Police found the woman lying in the road.

Police initially thought the woman was a victim of hit and run, but her wounds, and their investigation proved otherwise.

"She was never conscious enough to tell us what happened to her or who she was," Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight said.

Police did not release details of her injuries, but the woman died in the hospital Thursday. The

Medical examiner did not deem the death a homicide, but police did call the death suspicious.

"We are going ahead and investigating this as a homicide unless we hear otherwise from the medical examiner," Knight said.

The woman was white or mixed race, possibly Indian or Hispanic, according to police. She was in her twenties, 5'5'' and weighed around 200 pounds.

Anybody with information is asked to contact the OKC Police Homicide Unit at 297-1126.
