Retired police dog dies

Edmond officers are mourning the loss of a police dog, Cindy.

EDMOND, Okla. - Edmond officers are mourning the loss of a police dog, Cindy.

The 14-year-old dog was put down last week for natural age-related issues. Cindy was purchased in 1996 in a partnership with Edmond Public schools.

Cindy spent and her handler Officer Kris Fite spent 10 years patrolling the streets of Edmond and searching for drugs in Edmond schools.

Cindy's biggest find was 111 pounds of marijuana from a traffic stop in 2006. She was retired from the force in 2007.
