Man arrested after taking hostages in Clinton

CLINTON, Okla. (AP) - Custer County authorities say a suspect is in custody after several people were held hostage at a veterinary clinic near Clinton in western Oklahoma.

Sheriff Kenneth Tidwell says a man held eight to 10 hostages at the Highland Veterinary Clinic before leaving in the clinic owner's car.

The car was later found burning in a wheat field in Custer County.

Details of the man's arrest and his name haven't been released. Tidwell says investigators are still looking for a motive for the hostage-taking.
