The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was injured after someone tossed a tombstone off an overpass last night in Mayes County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 66-year-old Gerald Webb of Porum was driving on the Cherokee Turnpike when his truck was struck by the tombstone. The truck then ran off the road, across the turnpike and into the eastbound lanes before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

Webb was flown to a Tulsa hospital where he is listed in serious condition with multiple injuries, the OHP said.

The incident occurred about three miles west of Locust Grove shortly after midnight.

The OHP is continuing to investigate and said no one has been arrested.
