PARKERSBURG, Iowa -- Kansas has been hit with tornadoes just three days after storms left two people dead. At least one twister was reported in rural Oklahoma.
There are no reports from either state yet on injuries or damage.
In Parkersburg, Iowa, people are picking up from Sunday's tornado that killed four people and destroyed or damaged more than 600 homes. That's about half the homes in the town. In nearby New Hartford, Iowa, two people died.
Governor Chet Culver calls the devastation overwhelming. He's issued a disaster proclamation for four counties. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, who owns a farm near New Hartford, says there's so much hurt he doesn't know where to start.
Besides the six people dead in Iowa, some 70 others are injured, two of them critically.
