LAWTON, Okla.-- Nearly five years after a woman was found dead in McClain County, investigators believe they know her identity.
The parents of a missing 17-year-old girl submitted DNA samples to the Lawton Police Department, and officers were able to match it to the woman's body found in August 2003.
Police were withholding the girl's name until her family could be notified.
Officials say the girl was last seen in Lawton in June 2003, and a jogger found her nude body in a McClain County ditch nearly two months later. Her cause of death is still unknown, but Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says investigators are treating it as a homicide.
