NORMAN, Okla. - Norman police arrested the man allegedly responible for raping a 16-year-old girl.

Jackie Ray Sullivan of Norman was booked Wednesday and charged with First Degree Rape and Forcible Sodomy. Investigators have determined that no abduction took place.

Capt. Leonard Judy said the girl told officers she was walking in the parking lot of a business near Norman High School when the two forced her into a blue pickup-truck shortly before noon Tuesday.

"Our information is that the assault actually took place in the vehicle in the parking lot of the complex, but we still don't know exactly where the complex is at this point," Judy said.

The girl said she was taken to an apartment complex where she was raped then taken back to the area where she had been abducted.

Students of Norman High School said they're shocked one of their fellow classmates was assaulted.

"It's a big shock because everybody's always out in this area. Nothing like this has ever happened that I know of," student Dylan Grensky said.

The students normally leave the campus to eat lunch elsewhere, traveling in groups, school authorities said.

"I'm assuming this young woman was probably alone," student Deeanna Palmer said.
