We say it on the news all the time -- more than 600,000 Oklahomans don't have health insurance. Are you one of the hundreds of thousands who can't afford to go to the doctor? If so, there's a new place you can visit when you need medical help. It's at the Bryant Avenue Baptist Church, and it's a free health clinic.

The outpouring of support from the community to get this health clinic up and running was tremndous. Bill Sisson, the Interim Pastor at the church, says the congregation is small. On an average Sunday morning 50 people attend Bryant Avenue Baptist. And nearly that many are volunteering to help every Thursday night at the clinic! Several nurses, a pharmacist, a doctor, and several more who are helping with administration and organization are responsible for it's success every Thursday night from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. And, Sisson says there's about $40,000 worth of medical equipment that was donated for the clinic's use.

If you're interested in volunteering in any capacity, or if you need medical supervision, you can call the clinic at 672-4511. The phone lines are answered on weekdays between 9:30am and 3:30pm. It's located at the Bryant Avenue Baptist Church at 4748 S. Bryant in Del City.
