An unidentified man is still in critical condition after a car allegedly hit him and took off Monday morning in southwest Oklahoma City.

A passing motorist found the man unconscious, lying on the side of the road near SW 15 St., between May and Agnew avenues, at around 5:30 a.m., authorities said. Police said the man had no identification on him and have not been able to identify the man.

The man was believed to be headed to work, police said.

"When the police officers arrived, it was determined this was the victim of a hit-and-run, auto-pedestrian," said Steve McCool, public information officer for the Oklahoma City Police Department. "What we know right now is that the victim was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition."

Police said they don't know how long the victim had been lying on the side of the road, but they did find some evidence at the scene regarding the identity of the vehicle.

McCool described the car as a maroon mid- to late-1990s Chevy Blazer with fresh damage to the front end.

Witnesses at the scene told police the man appeared to be about 30-years-old, well-dressed and Hispanic, possibly from central America, police said.

If you have seen the vehicle, police ask you to call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
