Oklahoma City police are investigating two Sunday afternoon shootings.

A man was shot three times outside of an auto parts store on the southwest side and another man was shot in a northeast Oklahoma City neighborhood. Police said as the weather heats up, they expect to see more of these types of crimes.

"We do seem to pick up in activity in the summer months," Lt. Ron Bacy said."School is out during the summertime, so people who normally have a routine during the day and people are taking vacation time, so you have more people who are out and about mingling that normally don't."

Bacy said the summer heat doesn't help. When it gets too hot, people get mad more easily, so police try to be prepared for the summer months by adjusting schedules to provide more officers on duty, Bacy said.

The man who was shot at O'Reilly Auto Parts, 2445 SW 29, was in stable condition Sunday night at a metro hospital. The other victim who was shot near NE 29 street was only hit in the foot and officials said he was doing OK.

Police said Sunday night that the shootings do not appear to be related and no arrests had been made.
