Logan Shelton's parents, Maxie and Shelby, feared he wouldn't wake up from an unexplainable coma.

It was three years ago that Logan started to have spasm.

"We would ask him questions and he would just stare at us, stare right through us," Shelby Shelton said.

Logan had violent seizures and eventually fell into a coma lasing almost 10 days.

Doctors diagnosed Logan with encephalitis, a viral infection that causes inflammation in the brian.

Logan eventually came to the Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit at the Children's Center in Bethany. At six-years-old, he arrived unable to walk or talk.

"We were told they had no idea if he was ever going to walk," Maxie Shelton said.

After ten scary days for his parents, Logan made an incredible recovery.

He spent six and a half weeks in therapy, and now his parents said he's an inspiration to them.

"If anything ever happens to their child, there is hope out there," Shelby Shelton said.

Logan's parents said he's is back to playing sports and made honor roll at school this year.
