Severe thunderstorms passed through the metro early Tuesday with about 0.7 inches of total rainfall on the ground.
Those heavy showers are now moving to the eastern section of the state with more showers rolling in from the South. A 60 percent chance of more rain is present throughout the day.
Severe storms will be possible from late afternoon through the overnight hours with a slight risk of tornadoes forming later in the evening. Large, golfball-sized, hail and wind gusts up to 65 mph will be the main concerns.
Tuesday afternoon will be warm with a high of 80 degrees.
