And from food to gas and everything in between, men across the nation are finding themselves worrying about money matters.
In a recent Men's Health magazine survey:
1. 70 percent of men were living beyond their means
2. 51 percent were saving for retirement
3. 48 percent were paying for their children's education
4. 45 percent were paying off debt
5. 41 percent were paying for unexpected surprises
6. 39 percent were financially supporting a girlfriend /wife & family
7. 36 percent were loosing their job
If you're living beyond means...how do you cut back?
1. Negotiate: Ask for discounts or ask to have fees waived
2. Don't pay for things you don't use. The average cell phone user only uses 442 minutes per month but pays for 600 to 900 minutes.
3. Watch your utility costs.
1. Control the thermostat and turn it off when you are not around
2. Use a water heater blanket to save on heating bills
3. Turn your lights off when you leave a room or the house
d. Don't buy bottle water, it's a waste for your wallet and the environment
e. Increase your auto/ home insurance deductible from $500 to $1000.; you'll save 40 percent.
