MIAMI, Okla. -- A single-engine airplane crashed on the Will Rogers Turnpike on Monday, killing a person aboard the craft.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown said a Cessna-type craft went down into the center wall dividing the turnpike lanes and landed on the westbound side near mile marker 132.
"Right now, investigators are sifting through the scene," Brown said. "Everything's been contained in a small area."
There was no information on the name of the victim.
Both westbound lanes were closed for a number of hours as traffic was diverted at mile marker 133.
Miami is in far northeastern Oklahoma.
