There's a big story in the business world that somehow slipped past news editors.

I dunno, maybe it's because I'm a fast food junkie, but I figured this would have been bigger news than just the placement of page 3B in today's edition of the Oklahoman.

The folks who own Arby's has purchased Wendy's.

Yeah, the roast beef  place now owns the fast-food chain famous for its square burgers and the red-headed girl as the logo, and to make this story more juicy than a #2 on its value menu, there's a tad bit of some family drama in the ingredients of this story.

It turns out, according to AP article in the paper, the Thomas family isn't happy to hear this.  The daughters of Dave Thomas, including Wendy herself, have hinted that their father is rolling in his grave.

Personally, I don't care what the Thomas family thinks.  This could be the company's saving grace.

According to some research I've done on the internet, Wendy's has had some rough times lately.   It hasn't been able to keep up with trends set by McDonald's or Burger King and without Daddy Dave himself, the ad and marketing side of Wendy's has been as cold as day old fries.

So, maybe this buyout will turn things around.

I hope so, because in my love affair for fast food, there's a special spot in my growing tummy for those chicken nuggets that cost only $0.99.
