Storms rolled through Lake Texoma packing a punch. The weather tossed boats and brought down boat houses.

Now it is a calm wind floating across Lake Texhoma.

"Pretty wild, pretty windy, at least four and a half or five-foot waves coming in here," Bobby Sanders with the Marina said.

Coming in and batting around boats - some easily worth $1.5 million. Many of the boats sailed through the storm with minimal damage. But others did not fare well.

"It had to be a tornado, that's my opinion," Bill Williams said.

Although there are no official reports of tornados in the area, from the shore, from the water and from Sky NEWS 9 HD, it is clear the damage was extensive.

Boat owners spent Thursday afternoon pulling their vessels out of the destroyed boat houses.

"Get it out before we have any more damage," boat owner, David Johnson said.

But those familiar with Lake Texhoma are also familiar with tough boating seasons.

Two years ago there was a drought and last year there were floods. The white ring mark on a nearby telephone pole shows how high the water went on this spot.

And timing is everything. This latest blow from Mother Nature comes just weeks before the official start of the boating season - Memorial Day weekend.

"It's going to be tough, but I'll get the gas dock at least open," Sanders said.

The marina workers said they hope to have the new boat houses built this year.
