A six hour standoff with a wanted criminal ended peacefully at 5:56 p.m. Monday, authorities said.

Jerry Maggard, 31, was wanted on three felony warrants, two are drug-related and one is an auto-theft, said police. He was in the house alone, officials said.

Oklahoma City Police Captain Steve McCool said Maggard had been hiding at a friend's house at 3300 SW 22 St. since last night. Attempts to talk him out failed, leaving police no choice but to enter the home.

"I don't have any indication that there was a struggle," McCool said. "I just know when they made entry they were able to find him in the house and they were able to take him into custody."

Maggard told police he had a pre-existing condition with his leg, and that is why he didn't come out of house. Police took him to a local hospital to check out his claimed injury. Maggard is now in jail.
