McClain County Commissioner dies in office

McClain County Commissioner Loyd Tucker died at work with his employees by his side.

PURCELL, Okla. -- McClain County Commissioner Loyd Tucker died at work with his employees by his side. 

The 67-year-old died Tuesday after a battle with cancer, and had continued to work through his illness. Funeral services will be held Friday. 

A twin, Tucker grew up in Wayne and Davis before moving to Purcell, where he graduated from high school in 1959. He had careers with General Telephone Co. and the state Department of Transportation before he was elected commissioner. 

Tucker's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Purcell First Baptist Church. The McClain County Courthouse will be closed Friday for county employees to attend the services
