With only four days left before the big Ford Center improvements vote, opponents are trying to make sure Oklahoma City voters know all the facts.

Specifically, they said there's a cost to voting yes that supporters don't want you to know.

Opponents of the so-called "Big League City" campaign said, don't be misled, next Tuesday's vote is about paying a tax.

David Glover describes himself as a concerned citizen, especially concerned, he told reporters Friday that the city has withheld what he believes is critical information regarding the cost of the Ford Center improvements.

"There's a lot of slick marketing trying to tell us why we should buy this, but the problem is you've never been told the cost," Glover said. "This is what the average Oklahoma City resident can expect to pay, $10 a month for 15 months, or $150 for every man, woman and child in Oklahoma
City, this is their information."

But Friday afternoon, Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett said, the information appears to be inaccurate, more to the point, he said the city is not trying to hide the cost from anyone.

"It is one percent and it is a tax that will start when another one ends, so the tax rate will not increase," Cornett said.

The sales tax would be a continuation, for up to fifteen months, of the same sales tax that paid for the original MAPS projects and is paying right now for new schools under MAPS for Kids.
