Members of an Edmond church say they're not letting a fire hinder their helping spirit.

Earlier this month a fire caused $2 million in damage to the New Covenant United Methodist Church. The fire destroyed a building that houses New Covenant's youth hall.

The youth group hosted a spaghetti dinner Sunday to raise money for a mission trip to Mexico.  Even though the New Covenant members need to rebuild part of their own church, volunteers are getting ready to start construction on a church and school in Mexico.

"We can just share the blessings that we have with them," church member Maura Dean said. "It's an experience that I look forward to every year."
