NORMAN -- A 36-year-old woman was killed late Monday by a man she had met online, police said.

Donna's family says.. the two met through a dating service, and that Donna allowed Smith to stay at her home.

Donna Riles' body was found by her 12-year-old daughter, Miranda, who called 911 from inside their duplex on West Mosier Street.

Shortly after the shooting, 26-year-old Tony Benea Smith Jr.  was arrested in Oklahoma City.

Norman Police Capt. Michael Praizner said Smith recently had moved into the duplex.

"What we believe so far is that the two of them met probably around Saturday just a few days ago on some kind of either online or phone dating service," Praizner said.

Riley's sister, Tammy Johnson, said Miranda found her mother's body.

"She went to try and open the door, but he had locked my sister inside her bedroom," Johnson said. "She had to get a cake knife to get inside the bedroom and she found my sister there dead."

An hour later, an off-duty police officer in Oklahoma City arrested Smith in a hotel parking lot. The officer said Smith was acting suspiciously and he was driving Donna Riles' car.

Cleveland County prosecutors filed charges against Smith on Wednesday for first degree murder in the death of Riles.
