Political analyst Scott Mitchell said Oklahoma has a long history of political corruption. He said recent developments just give Oklahomans another reason to not trust politicians.

"From have you cheated on your wife, to have you smoked marijuana, did you dodge the draft, I mean all these things are fair game," Mitchell said.

For Oklahoma politicians lately, it has been tax records.

Lance Cargill resigned amid reports of delinquent taxes.  He is one of five politicians who did not file personal taxes, some for multiple years.

Then, there is State Auditor Jim McMahon. He turned over operations to an assistant while facing federal charges of mail fraud, bribery and conspiracy.

Mitchell expects lawmakers in this session to introduce multiple bills dealing with penalties for lawmakers who don't pay their taxes.
