Weigh stations are being built to make our roads safer.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission and Department of Transportation are teaming up to build nine state-of-the-art weigh stations that will cost $61 million.

The stations will be placed strategically across the state to cut down on overweight trucks which cause the most damage to our highways and interstates.

More than 90 million trucks a year drive Oklahoma's highways. Experts predict a 70 percent increase over the next 20 years.
