The situation surrounding Superintendent John Porter could lead some people to say "No" to a penny sales tax increase on March 4.

Thursday night several people met at the Fairview Baptist Church in northeast to discuss Porter's suspension.

Attendees said they would like to see Porter reinstated as superintendent next month.

"If it's a cause for rallies, marches, whatever cause for the citizens to stand up.  The school board has to understand they represent the citizens that put them in office  and they ought to be able to listen to the people. And the school board members are not listening to the people in their district," said Rev. J.A. Reed.

Porter will be back in front of the school board next month.
