Oklahoma City artist Nicole Moan creates ceramic corsets that are taking over the world, one bosom at a time.
"My husband and I needed something to wear to an art event here in Oklahoma City," Moan said. Then, she asked her husband, "You wanna try making something to wear? How about ceramic corsets?"
The process that Nicole uses to mold and sculpt a model doesn't take that much time. "I roll out clay on my rolling table and I lay it over them, then I start sculpting," she said.
From Paris to Los Angeles, customers are clamoring to get their own custom-fit corset. But Nicole once struggled with her new-found occupation.
"I did not want to be an artist. I did not want to starve. I did not want any part of it," she said. "And I just couldn't get away from it, and it just pours out of me. I can't hold it back."
Moan seems to have accepted her fate. Her corsets have progressed from a simple idea to a worldwide fashion statement.
